	Hallie V. Thomas, age 93, of Pinckneyville, died on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 in the Pinckneyville Community Hospital at 2:00 a.m.
	Hallie was born in Sunfield on February 19, 1912 the daughter of William Henry Tate and Emma Anna Tate.  She married Earl Thomas on October 6, 1928 in Belleville and he preceded her in death on November 19, 1987.  Hallie was a homemaker, a seamstress, an excellent cook, and devoted her life to her three children.  She also was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Pinckneyville.
	Survivors include a daughter, Janet Thomas of Pinckneyville, a son, Jim Thomas and wife Mary of Pinckneyville, a daughter-in-law, Catherine Thomas of Pinckneyville, four grandchildren, Pam Hottes and husband Louie, Doug Thomas and wife Toni, Sherry Alexander and husband Charles, and Eric Thomas, eight great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, three sisters-in-law, Leona Tate, Elizabeth Decker, and Augusta Thomas, and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  Among those friends are four ladies who became family to Hallie, as they assisted her daughter, Janet, in caring for her after her stroke in August 2001.  Those ladies are Bonnie Boyce, Sue Browning, Judy McClurken, and Pat Reidelberger.
	She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Charles "Junior" Thomas, three sisters, and three brothers.
	Funeral services will held at the United Methodist Church in Pinckneyville, on Monday, April 11, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jim Barnett officiating.  Interment will be the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin.  
	Visitation will be held at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville on Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and at the United Methodist Church in Pinckneyville on Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. until services.  Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
